I attended the recent Board meeting of NRW at which the options they see as available to address the issue of declining salmon and seas trout stocks, were presented . Clicking on the link below will open a copy of the presentation made to the board. Please take the time to look at the report and ponder the situation of our salmon and sea trout. Clearly the days of indiscriminately killing these fish for sport is at an end. We urge you to consider voluntary catch and release to show that we anglers can and do take a responsible attitude to our sport and the survival of these two iconic Welsh fish species. Thanks to Peter Gough of NRW for letting us have a copy of the report of which he is the author.
In the meantime the fight to prevent the closure of Welsh hatcheries continues so it can only help if we all take a responsible attitude to our fishing. Tight lines
